Definitions:

Kinetic Energy- The energy of a body or a system with respect to the motion of the body or of the particles in the system.

Potential Energy- The energy of a body or a system with respect to the position of the body or the arrangement of the particles of the system.



One way to teach this would be to use toy cars and move one and show kinetic, then have one be still with the potential

to move.

Word Usage:

I have kinetic energy when I rollerblade down the street.

I have potential energy when i am being pulled on rollerblades.
